Conveniently located to serve Honolulu and Hawaii
I have been seeing Dr. Tantisira for several years now. Initially I went to see her for the fractional CO2 laser. Not even fully understanding it’s true benefits. Of course I was so happy with the way I “looked”. I looked so much younger! Then I went in for some Botox and fillers. Again I was thrilled with my results. A couple years have gone by and 50 is around the corner. Reality is setting in. I was diagnosed with basal cell skin cancer. And I have severe dry eye. She is an amazing eye doctor along with her other talents of skin care. I ended up needing my tear ducts cauterized. She performed this procedure and my quality of life has changed.
Come to find out the laser that I had done previously made a complete difference in the prevention of the basal cell on my face. I never even knew this could be helpful. I’m getting ready to have this procedure done again. Many talents and prevention’s are happening in this office. I wish I could spread the word to more people. I love the fact that I can look young and beautiful and help prevent things that can make me sick down the road. For more information please contact the staff. This office is so helpful and the staff is so incredible and amazing. I will definitely continue to go here for years to come.

Fractional CO2 Skin Laser
At True Vision Center we offer the best technology in laser skin treatments in Honolulu, Hawaii. Our Fractional CO2 Laser is still the most powerful laser technique available today for rejuvenating the skin. It is also excellent for acne scars and other textural abnormalities. Patient comments after treatment include “My skin is baby soft.” And “I can’t believe the change in my skin!”. It is fantastic at treating fine to medium lines, irregular texture, mild skin laxity, and pigmentation issues. This is especially important here in Hawaii, where skin damage often hits patients earlier due to our stronger sun.
CO2 Skin Lasers always have been the best for revitalizing skin. CO2 treatments were originally fully ablative, meaning they removed the entire surface of the skin down to the dermis, the deepest layer of the skin. When the skin regenerated, it slowly grew back as extremely smooth, beautiful new skin. However fully ablative treatment was extremely painful (general anesthesia was usually required), a great deal of aftercare was required, and recovery was very slow (as long as one month), with a fairly high risk of infection and scarring.
The Fractional CO2 Laser in Honolulu offers the amazing rejuvenation effects of the fully ablative CO2 Laser with much lower risk and far more rapid healing time. This is accomplished by treating an organized fraction of the skin with the laser set in a grid pattern, still effectively reaching deep into the dermis to stimulate the growth of collagen, but leaving healthy intact skin in between the laser spots to rapidly grow in and heal. Therefore, the dermis is stimulated to regenerate beautiful skin, but healing usually is completed in 5 to 7 days, and the risk of infection and scarring is much lower. Generally, two treatments are recommended about 8 weeks apart to achieve the same effect as one fully ablative CO2 laser treatment.
The Fractional CO2 Laser is also used to perform the Madonna Lift, our popular non-surgical eyelid lift. The Madonna lift achieves tightening of the eyelid skin, via several laser sessions scheduled a few weeks apart. Building collagen in the eyelids makes the skin healthier and makes the eyelids look younger.
Dr. Tantisira has been performing CO2 skin lasers in Honolulu for over 14 years and does all of the laser procedures herself. Her long experience allows her to set the complicated parameters of the laser to match each patient’s skin type so that the patient will get the maximum benefit from each session while minimizing the risk of complications. Prior to any laser treatment in Honolulu, Dr. Tantisira requires darker-skinned patients to complete a strict pre-treatment preparation with physician-grade sunscreen. Patients with an history of severe pigmentation irregularities also need to pre-treat with an anti-pigmentation topical medication prescribed by Dr. Tantisira. Proceeding with a laser treatment without strict compliance, with these pre-treatments may result in avoidable pigmentation issues.
A topical anesthetic cream is applied to the skin for 30-60 minutes, then completely removed and the skin thoroughly cleaned. After numbing drops are instilled into each eye, metal eye shields are inserted. The procedure itself takes 10-30 minutes, depending on the area being treated. Patients will “rest” afterward for a few minutes. Some redness and swelling will occur immediately afterward, which usually resolves in 24-48 hours. A full facial skin rejuvenation usually needs 2 fractional treatments and a full Madonna Lift requires a series of 3-5 treatments, usually scheduled 2 to 8 weeks apart, depending on each patient’s circumstances. During the consultation, Dr. Tantisira designs a treatment plan for each patient based on the patient’s goals, skin type, and scheduling needs.
